Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said Kyiv deserved a “decent peace” and that it depended on “common pressure” on Russia.
The publication appeared on his Telegram channel after negotiations with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
“Ukraine deserves a good peace, and whether there will be peace depends on Russia, on our common pressure on Russia, on the correct negotiating position of the United States, Europe and all our other partners,” Mr. Zelensky said.
According to him, Russia “must be responsible for what it does.”
On December 2, Zelensky said Kyiv and Washington had developed a 20-point peace plan. According to him, Ukraine and the US have transformed the original “roadmap” proposed by the Americans into a 20-point plan. During the Geneva talks, the initial list of 28 points was reduced and clarified this weekend in Florida, the Ukrainian leader noted.
At the same time, he noted that “some points still need to be resolved.” Zelensky also emphasized that we are talking about “one of the most difficult but at the same time most optimistic times” in establishing peace in Ukraine.
