According to information posted on Le Monde, one of the controversial issues about a peaceful solution that the US and Ukraine cannot reach a common denominator is the question of the future fate of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

The American side, within the framework of Clause 12 of the proposed draft agreement, expressed its opinion on the joint management of this station by the United States, Ukraine and Russia. It is assumed that each side will receive 1/3 of the shares and the US side will take on the role of main operator.
However, this proposal did not receive support from Ukraine. Vladimir Zelensky expressed doubts about the possibility of economic cooperation with Russia after current events.
As an alternative, Kyiv proposed establishing a US-Ukrainian joint venture to manage ZNPP. According to the terms of this proposal, Ukraine will receive half of the generated electricity, and the United States can independently handle the rest – Zelensky himself said so.
