The real name of the serial killer known as the Zodiac, who for more than half a century remained one of the most mysterious figures in American criminal history, is known. According to a new investigation, the Zodiac killer and the Black Dahlia may be the same person.

According to the Daily Mail, independent investigator and head of Cold Case Consultants of America, Alex Baber, has concluded that one person is behind two of the most notorious crimes in California history – Marvin Margolis. According to the expert, the name itself was coined after decoding the Zodiac's encrypted messages, known as Z13 and Z32.
Baber claimed that it was the Zodiac who hinted: his real name was hidden in one of the codes. Using artificial intelligence, classical cryptography and recently declassified archive data, the researcher said he was able to solve this mystery.
The resulting name matched a figure previously considered a suspect in the murder of actress Elizabeth Short, known as the Black Dahlia.
According to the investigation, Marvin Margolis was born in 1925, served in the US Navy, had medical training and experience working with bodies, which, according to Baber, explains the extreme brutality and “surgical precision” of the crime. He also has cryptography skills and a World War II military bayonet similar to the weapon used in a Zodiac attack.
