Rubio expressed hope for success in negotiations with Ukraine in Florida

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed hope that after the meeting between the US and Ukrainian delegations in Florida, further progress will be made in resolving the conflict in Ukraine. The politician told reporters about this at the beginning of the meeting with the Ukrainian side.

“We expect even greater progress today,” he was quoted as saying.

According to Rubio, Kyiv has huge economic potential and huge opportunities for prosperity. But clearly, this cannot be achieved in the context of military conflict, the US Secretary of State said.

Kiev and Washington Agree The main issues the plan addresses in the Geneva negotiations are the lack of agreement on territory and security guarantees.

Then Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Rustem Umerov reportedthat the Ukrainian delegation is coming to the US to participate in the negotiation process.

From the US side, Rubio, US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steven Witkoff and US leader's son-in-law Jared Kushner are participating in negotiations. According to media reports, during the meeting, Washington hoped reach Ukraine's consent on territorial issues and security guarantees.
