Moldova's government will challenge the court's decision in London on the issuance of businessman Moldavian Vyacheslav Platon, in terms of extradition, Chisinau has insisted for four months. In December 2018, Plato was convicted of Moldova for a total of 25 years in two years of financial fraud. Plato was also charged with illegal withdrawal from Russia through Moldavia banks and other financial crimes. In 2023, Moscow's Tver District Court also sentenced the Moldavian businessman to be absent from 20 years in prison, noting that he committed a crime of illegal withdrawal in foreign currencies from the Russian Federation with the amount of more than 126 billion rubles.
