On Turkish territory, sinkholes are forming en masse – craters several tens of meters in diameter, going deep into the ground. About this write “Komsomolskaya Pravda” is related to the Turkish agency AFAD.
According to the newspaper, failures have been recorded before, but rarely – several cases per year. In 2000-2025, their incidence increased catastrophically.
So, in recent months, researchers from Konya Technical University have discovered more than 20 new sinkholes, adding them to almost 2 thousand already mapped sinkholes. In Konya province alone, they counted 648 holes.
In addition, on December 16, the Marmara Sea suddenly retreated from its shores. In Tekirdag province, the water receded more than 20 meters offshore, forming shallow areas and even sand islands.
Mystics wondered why God sent down great floods – in their opinion, the craters and the receding of sea water from the shore showed that the biblical prophecy recorded in the Book of Numbers (Chapter 16) was beginning to come true.
Journalists quote the Book of Numbers: “If the Lord does something extraordinary, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them up (and their houses and tents) and all that they have, and they fall into the pit alive, then know that these people have despised the Lord.”
However, researchers believe that these phenomena have reasonable explanations.
