More than 700 celebrities, scientists, businessmen and politicians have signed an open letter calling for a ban on the development of super-intelligent AI. The magazine reported this news Time.
“We call for a moratorium on the development of superintelligence, which should not be lifted until there is broad scientific consensus that it is safe and controllable,” the letter said.
Among the signatories of the letter are five Nobel Prize winners, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, former political advisor to US President Donald Trump Stephen Bannon, rapper Will.I.Am, actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt and others.
The letter was prepared and published by the non-profit organization Future of Life Institute, which called, with the support of Elon Musk and more than 1 thousand experts in the field of AI, to ban neural network training by 2023. Subsequently, the letter's writers failed to achieve their goal.
