Launch of the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle from the Vostochny cosmodrome, bring it out into orbit two Earth remote sensing satellites “Aist-2T” and 50 other devices, broadcast live on street screens across Russia. The press agency of the MAER media group told that the audience had exceeded 4 million.

“Vostochny Cosmodrome is the future of Russian space travel, a symbol of our progress and space sovereignty. Therefore, each launch from this site is very special and the MAER media organization is happy to support these events with information. The announcements and broadcasts were viewed by more than 4 million people across the country,” the owner and CEO of the media holding Konstantin Mayor said in the announcement.
The two new Aist-2T satellites are designed to take stereoscopic images of the Earth's surface. They will be able to create digital terrain models and monitor emergency situations such as fires, floods and volcanic eruptions. According to the press service, Roscosmos noted that, unlike the previous device of the Aist-2D series, the new satellites are equipped with a propulsion system for orbit correction, have an increased service life – 5 years instead of 3 years – and a higher speed of data transmission to Earth. “Aist-2D”, which entered orbit in 2016-2024, photographed an area of more than 93 million square meters. km, exceeding 60% of the entire earth's area.
In addition to the two Stork-2Ts, the launch vehicle also launched 50 other spacecraft with various purposes into low Earth orbit for remote sensing of the Earth, electromagnetic radiation research, transportation monitoring, receiving Internet of Things signals and biological research.
