Mobile co-CEO TM Roh said in an interview that the industry is facing “one of the most difficult pricing situations in recent years,” which could lead to device price corrections. At the same time, the company is considering the option of keeping prices for the new flagship Galaxy S26 series in some regions so as not to lose ground in the competition with Apple, which regained the title of the world's largest smartphone maker in 2025.
The rise in prices of memory and other components, largely due to the artificial intelligence (AI) boom, is affecting not only smartphones but also TVs and other smart devices. Samsung's head of global marketing, Wonjin Lee, confirmed that the company is exploring the possibility of “price adjustments” in line with new economic realities.
Despite cost pressures, Samsung plans to launch 400 million new AI-enabled devices by 2026, including smartphones, TVs and home appliances, doubling the current number of Galaxy-branded AI devices.
