Wireless charging, including the proprietary MagSafe, can negatively affect iPhone battery health. Nikita Goryainov, editor-in-chief of iPhones.ru, spoke about this.

According to this expert, since spring 2024, he has been using the iPhone 15 Pro Max, mainly charging the device using wireless charging. During this time, smartphone batteries have noticeably degraded. Based on personal experience, the journalist gave some recommendations for operating the device.
In particular, he advises using a charging adapter with reduced power – a 15 W power supply is considered the best option. You should also remove the protective case while charging as it may cause the device to overheat. Also in iOS you can activate charge limit up to 80% – this function is available on some current iPhone models.
It should be noted separately that it is better to use wireless charging and MagSafe as little as possible. According to experts, with this method of power supply, part of the energy will inevitably be converted into heat, and overheating will accelerate the wear and tear of the lithium-ion battery.
