The head of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Institute for Space Research (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Sergei Bogachev, said that in the near future the possibility of strong, even record-breaking solar storms will remain.

“The possibility of a strong, even record-breaking outbreak, remains, despite the general trend of reduced activity,” – quote His RIA Novosti.
According to the scientist, the current solar cycle shows a very high amplitude but no flare at the X10 level or higher has been recorded on the Sun.
Previously, IKI RAS stated that Solar storms could continue into the New Year holidays.
It has also been reported that 2025 becomes a record year for magnetic storms in the past 10 years.
