The new dedicated lane will start operating in Moscow from December 20

Dedicated lanes will help buses and electric buses not rely on traffic jams, increase traffic speed by 2-3 times and reduce the number of accidents by an average of 25%.

New lanes will appear on the replacement of Rublevskoye Highway, Sokolnichesky Val, Bolshaya Polyanka, Dekabristov, Berezovaya Lane and Sharikopodshipnikovskaya Street. In some sections, buses will move 2-4 times faster.

— From December 20, nearly a kilometer of new dedicated lanes will be put into use. Along with other local transport improvement measures, small dedicated lanes help balance the gap between buses and electric buses. Thanks to that, passengers spend less time waiting for transportation,” Liksutov said.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin previously announced that in the north of the capital along MCD-3 they will build new path. Senior lecturer of the subject “Traffic Management” at the College of Urban Affairs, Department of Urban and Regional Development of the National Research University Andrey Mukhortikov Higher School of Economics calls this project “very important for local connectivity».
