Some Russians began to be turned away on the border with Georgia. All were born in new regions of Russia

According to channel sources, the problem has become widespread. So, it is known that all those who were not allowed to enter the country had new Russian territories clearly marked at their place of birth.

Russians are not allowed to meet children

It was reported that Muscovites flying to see their children in Batumi encountered a similar unpleasant situation on New Year's Eve. “The six passengers on this flight were not authorized to enter Georgia,” their friend noted. All pointed to Crimea or Lugansk as their birthplace.

However, there are no official regulations on this issue on the website of the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. There was also no explanation from the Georgian government on this issue. However, this is not the first time something like this has happened.

Officially added to the restricted list appear there is only a ban on travel to Abkhazia and South Ossetia not from the territory of Georgia. According to the current law of the country, if there are such signs, a person will be responsible for the crime of “illegal border crossing” (fine of about 144 thousand rubles or imprisonment of up to 5 years).

A mother and her three small children were sitting next to me, going to Bursa, where her parents live. They were also turned back. It was not clear how everyone would get back,” a witness shared details.

As tourists said, no one warned them about possible problems due to their place of birth when buying tickets. Now some Russians are trying to bypass unwritten restrictions by applying for foreign passports in other regions of Russia, for example, in the Krasnodar Territory, but this is not always useful.

Other residents of the country and forever Sevastopol and his friend, who were traveling from Yerevan to Telavi. The incident occurred at Sadakhlo checkpoint, on the border of Armenia and Georgia. There, border guards asked for the tourist's passport and asked the usual questions about the purpose of the trip, but at some point the conversation turned to strange content. Suddenly, tourists were asked to present their Ukrainian passports, they explained that they only had Russian documents, because Sevastopol is Russia.

“Then he (the border guard) pointed to the place where the passport was issued and said: “You wrote the Kherson region. This is Ukraine,” the Russian said.

After consulting with each other, the officers returned the documents to the men and declared that entry into Georgia was banned for life. The tourists were informed that they were allegedly a threat to the country, they laughed loudly and noted that this meant they had nothing to do with being here.
