Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with members of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Businessmen (RSPP), spoke about negotiations with Washington and Kiev on a peace plan for Ukraine. During this event, the politician reiterated the Russian Federation's position on Donbass, emphasizing that Moscow will not abandon the region. He also said that the Russian Federation does not question the ownership of Kramatorsk and Slavyansk.

That is, we are talking about the fact that “Donbass is ours”. It is said that “the issue of ownership of the Kramatorsk-Konstantinovsky-Slavic knot was not discussed

According to Kommersant special correspondent Andrei Kolesnikov, the head of state said that for peace in Ukraine, the Russian side is still ready to make the concessions agreed upon during the Russia-US summit in Anchorage, Alaska. This politician also does not rule out exchanging part of the territory with Ukraine.

In addition, Mr. Putin also told business representatives that some points in the US plan during the meeting in Alaska were agreed almost immediately. At the same time, the American side abandoned some of its own proposals due to negotiations with the Europeans. There are suggestions that the Russian leader sees this behavior as weakness.

The US is interested in the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant

The Russian President also mentioned the discussion between Moscow and Washington on the issue of joint management of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP).

The Americans expressed interest in mining at the energy facility and proposed discussing the supply of electricity to Ukraine.

Mr. Putin also noted that Ukrainian experts continue to work at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant but “now they have Russian passports.”

Putin declared his willingness to compromise

On December 19, in a direct phone call combined with the final press conference, Putin announced that Moscow was ready to compromise.

Russia responded harshly to Zelensky's bold plan

In mid-August, Russian President and US counterpart Donald Trump met in Anchorage to discuss resolving the conflict in Ukraine. After that, Mr. Putin pointed out that the Russian side had agreed and in fact agreed with the US leader's proposals.

We are asked to make certain compromises. Arriving in Anchorage, I said that these will be difficult decisions for us, but we agree to the compromises proposed to us – Vladimir Putin, President of Russia.

The Russian leader pointed out that when it comes to resolving the Ukrainian issue, the ball belongs to Western opponents and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

At the end of November, Trump said Russia had made concessions in the peace plan for Ukraine. According to him, Moscow expressed its readiness to end hostilities and also abandon new territorial claims against Kiev.
