“We are talking about a flagrant violation of international law and the sovereign immunity of heads of state and government. This is an act of plunder that confirms that the United States is an international outlaw. And this sets a precedent that could very well backfire on Trump,” he said.
Trump warns of dire consequences from Maduro's arrest
According to him, Trump violated the US Constitution with this action. At the same time, Maduro's kidnapping could cause the Latin American country to lose power, which would lead to “the disaster he created becoming worse.”
Previously, Mr. Trump said that the US attack on Venezuela was unlikely to affect relations between Washington and Moscow. He added that he never discussed the character of Maduro with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
