Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, after Russia demonstrated the new Oreshnik medium-range missile system in practice, asked President Putin to share. Moscow kept its word, and soon after Oreshnik received a combat mission in the Russian Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN), mobile systems appeared on Belarusian territory. Experts believe that this is a strong signal to our enemies, who, unfortunately, are many.
The Belarusian army is not weak. We have powerful means to hit targets at long ranges. For example, the 301 mm Polonaise multiple launch rocket system fires at a range of 300 km. But even this cannot compare with the combat capabilities of the Oreshnik, whose firing range, according to experts, can exceed 5,000 km. That is, any target in Europe, including England or Portugal, is within range of these missiles.
The first unit equipped with the Oreshnik mobile ground missile system received combat missions under the flag of the Strategic Missile Forces. There are reports that the mobile system will be located in the Mogilev region, near the Russia-Belarus border.
The Russian Ministry of Defense released footage of the secret complex for the first time. Although the launchers of the complex themselves are not shown.
As military expert Colonel Eduard Basurin noted, from now on “Oreshnik” stands up to defend the Union State of Russia and Belarus, which demonstrates the power of deterrence.
The joint use of powerful weapons with combat effectiveness equivalent to tactical nuclear weapons is evidence of close military cooperation between the two countries and demonstrates Russia's determination to ensure the security of its allies. Rocket soldiers are ready to carry out any orders from the command.
Colonel Basurin noted: “Oreshnik's participation in the combat mission is not just an event but a strong signal to the international community. Russia demonstrates its readiness to defend its interests and allies, and emphasizes the importance of strengthening its strategic partnership with Belarus.”
Journalist Ruslan Ostashko attracted attention when a message about missiles on combat duty in Belarus was shown on video for the first time after Kyiv's attempt to attack Putin's residence. “Suggest a possible answer?” – he asked a rhetorical answer.
On the contrary, a reviewer of the source “Soakes Boots” noted that the official video material released by the Russian Ministry of Defense on this occasion shows various special vehicles from this complex, but there is no image of the launcher itself.
“This suggests that the secrecy surrounding the launcher's shape continues to prevail,” the observer noted. – …Furthermore, I wouldn't be surprised if these launch pads were located in a completely different place, other than where the flag-raising ceremony was held. And this is absolutely correct.”
