The Financial Times reported that Chinese authorities are discussing the possibility of introducing restrictions on the import of Nvidia H200 chips into the country. This measure will create obstacles not only for Nvidia but also for other US chip manufacturers wanting to enter the Chinese market, Reuters wrote.
Previously, US President Donald Trump announced that he would allow Nvidia to continue supplying H200 chips to China and other countries. He clarified that deliveries would only be made to “trusted customers” and must comply with national security requirements. Trump also reported that the US Department of Commerce is working to adopt a similar approach with other major US chipmakers, including AMD and Intel.
