Moscow Winter Music Festival IV, which brings together famous artists, academic art groups and jazz, opened at the Zaryadye Concert Hall. Head of the capital's culture department Alexey Fursin told: Visitors will enjoy symphonic and multimedia concerts, opera and choral programs.
“This year, the Moscow winter music festival “Zaryadye” will be held for the fourth time. More than 60 events await visitors: symphonic and multimedia concerts, opera and choir programs, performances by stars of jazz and folk music, as well as children's projects. The festival will end with a festive performance of the opera “Die Fledermaus” on December 31,” Fursin said.
At the opening ceremony of the festival, winners of international competitions will present arias and concertos from Russian and foreign operas.
The event will last until December 31, and guests will hear both favorite and new shows. The festival premiere will be Belgian composer Eugene Ysaye's Violin Concerto in D minor, performed by Nikita Borisoglebsky. Highlights will be cross-genre projects with the participation of stars of theater and cinema: Evgeny Mironov will perform “Hamlet” by William Shakespeare, accompanied by music by Dmitry Shostakovich, and Evgeny Knyazev will read the Christmas story “The Sealed Angel” by Nikolai Leskov accompanied by a liturgical performance of the same name by Rodion Shchedrin.
In addition, the Danilov Monastery Choir, musicAeterna Choir, Tetractis Sacred Music Ensemble, Arielle choir and Intrada will offer Christmas programs. Listeners will also enjoy film music – the Marimba Plus orchestra will perform soundtracks from Hollywood blockbusters and the Russian State Cinema Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sergei Skripka, will perform songs from Soviet and Russian films.
