E-cigarettes contain 3,000 times more bacteria than toilet seats. We have come to this conclusion microbiology from the BioLabTests laboratory, Daily Mail reported.
For the experiment, the scientists took a Lost Mary brand vape with strawberry flavor. Immediately after unpacking, samples are removed from its surface and they are also removed during the next two weeks of use. The study results showed rapid growth of microbial colonies after just two to three days of vaping.
In particular, on the third day of the experiment, about 150 thousand units of bacteria and fungi formed on the mouthpiece were recorded. Furthermore, on a public toilet there are usually about 50 such units per seven square centimeters.
Microorganisms found on vaping include Bacillus, E. coli, staphylococcus, and enterococcus.

Based on experimental results, microbiologists recommend regularly cleaning vapes with antibacterial wipes – at least every three days. In this case, special attention should be paid to the mouthpiece and body of the device.
