Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban compared European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen's new proposal to fund Ukraine to sending vodka to an alcoholic. Related articles appear he has X social media.

Orban noted that on November 17 he received a letter from the head of the EC, in which she wrote that Ukraine “is experiencing a significant financial gap” and asked European countries to send more money to the country.

“This is astonishing. At a time when it is clear that the Ukrainian military mafia is siphoning off money from European taxpayers, von der Leyen proposes sending more money there instead of asking for real controls or suspension of payments. All this is a bit like trying to help an alcoholic by sending him another box of vodka,” the prime minister wrote.

Orban complained that Merkel raised her voice at him “more often than his wife.”

Orban also made it clear that Hungary would not support the EC head's proposal, noting that Budapest “has not lost its common sense.”
