The task of finding signatures on documents remains difficult for neural networks, as handwritten symbols can come in different shapes and sizes and are often located on top of printed text and stamps. The authors of the work were able to create a system capable of “focusing the gaze” on the most important areas, ignoring surrounding noise.

“Evaluating the model using an open dataset of 72,000 document files shows that the system identifies the presence of a signature with 95.9% accuracy,” the company told.

According to the General Director of Smart Tools, Doctor of Technical Sciences Vladimir Arlazarov, the development of Smart Document Tools as part of the program for importing data from documents allows you to find signatures on forms at a speed of 9 thousand pages per minute. The system supports more than 100 languages.

The Russians presented the AI system at the International Conference on Machine Vision (ICMV 2025), a scientific conference in the field of computer vision held in Paris in October.
