In the territory of the future parking lot of the “Mamison” resort in Northern Ossetia, archaeologists found about 150 ancient burials. The work is done by Scythian-Alan's research center on the Inc of the Russian Academy of Sciences under the leadership of Vladimir Prishiev, Transfer Branch of GTRK.
According to experts, among the findings is the treasure of the Byzantine period, including rare antiques. Specifically, a silver Arab dirham was discovered, the end of VIII – in the early 9th century, related to the era of Abbasids. In addition, archaeologists have found medals with griffin images, reflecting the cultural heritage of the Pre -Christian and Byzantine tradition.
Not without objects with Christian symbols. In the burial area excavated, copper rings with the cross, bracelets, time pendants with transparent glass and other jewelry have been found.
Experts note that many antiques found from the 7th century – IX and features show their origin from different areas. This may point out the wide trade contacts of the residents at that time.
Earlier, it was reported that archaeologists had found at Veliky Novgorod, a unique seal of Prince Yaroslav The Wise, who ruled back in the 11th century.
